John Gilstrap

John Gilstrap is a Thriller Award–winning, The New York Times bestselling author of more than two dozen suspense novels, including his most recent release, Scorched Earth. Before beginning his writing career, he spent 15 years in the fire and rescue service, an experience that informs the realism in many of his stories. Several of his books have been purchased or optioned for film, and he has also written several screenplays. His nonfiction work Six Minutes to Freedom is currently in development as a feature film by Netflix. In addition to writing, he frequently speaks at literary events and teaches seminars on suspense writing, including programs at the Smithsonian Institution.
